Description of services:

The tasks will include:

  1. Provide technical assistance for the Yayasan Siklus Sehat Indonesia (YSSI) for the ongoing implementation of UNALA, the ASRH model in Yogyakarta;
  2. Provide technical assistance to the MoH and MoEC for the implementation of the module on ASRH education;
  3. Provide technical assistance to the MoH to implement the National Action Plan for Adolescent Health;
  4. In coordination with the humanitarian unit, provide technical assistance for MoH and youth networks to promote and implement the guideline and pocket book on youth engagement in the emergency settings;
  5. Work with national and local counterparts, including the Youth Advisory Panel and youth networks, to develop a non-traditional media strategy for the government and community, to promote the needs of young people to ASRH information and services;
  6. Coordinate programmes and activities with IPs and other counterparts (national and subnational levels), including government, UN agencies and other development partners, NGOs, Youth Networks and YAP, for the implementation of ASRH programmes.

 

Results/Expected Outputs:

  1. Ongoing technical support provided to MoH and MoEC, for the implementation of the module on adolescent reproductive health education;
  2. Ongoing technical support provided to YSSI, for the ongoing implementation of UNALA, the ASRH model in Yogyakarta;
  3. Ongoing technical support provided to MoH, for the ongoing implementation of the National Action Plan for adolescent health;
  4. Ongoing technical support provided to MoH and youth networks in promoting and implementing the guideline and pocket book on youth engagement in the emergency settings. The guideline and pocket book on youth engagement in the emergency settings are introduced and implemented;
  5. A non-traditional media strategy targeting local government, communities, including young people, to promote the needs of young people to ASRH information and services developed;
  6. Significant contributions delivered to the YAP and youth networks engaged for the ASRH programmes, including the UNALA implementation in Yogyakarta;
  7. Ongoing technical support provided to the Programme Analyst for Youth and ASRH, for the coordination of the implementation of ASRH programmes done by IPs and national and subnational counterparts.

 

Required qualification and experience:

Competencies:
  • Demonstrated strong familiarity with issues related with ASRH information and services, gender equality and SDGs;
  • Demonstrated strong familiarity on project management;
  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills;
  • Good writing skills;
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
  • Excellent and Up-to-date computer skills required;
  • Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).

 

Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: medicine, public health or psychology. A Master’s degree would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 (two) years (master’s degree) or 6 (six) years (bachelor’s degree) of experience in the area of adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
  • A minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in developing policy briefs, studies or advocacy works on youth issues, preferably on adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
  • Familiarity working with government institutions, NGOs and young people will be an advantage.

Language:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
