24/8/2018, Jakarta -- Indonesia's Vice President Jusuf Kalla officially launched the Indonesia Population Projections 2015-2045 at the Vice President's Palace in Jakarta. Attending the event were the Minister of National Development Planning, Prof.Bambang Brodjonegoro--who provided an overview of the Population Projections, Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Health, Chief Statistician of BPS-Statistics Indonesia, Acting Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. Provincial representatives from DKI Jakarta, Papua, Maluku, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Yogyakarta, and West Java Provinces were present at the launch to receive the Indonesia Population Projections 2015-2045 from the Vice President.
In his opening remarks, the Vice President said, " A large population should not be seen as a burden but as an advantage." He also added, " With population increase, we must make sure that each individual is healthy and prosperous."
UNFPA Representative, Dr. Annette Sachs Robertson, together with the Minister of National Development Planning, and Chief Statistician of BPS-Statistics Indonesia, accompanied the Vice President in handing over the Indonesian Population Projections 2015-2045 to attending ministers and provincial representatives.
The Population Projection was the result of the collaboration between The Ministry of National Development Planning, BPS-Statistics Indonesia, and UNFPA Indonesia.
