The Business Development Manager (BDM) acts as the general manager and is responsible for planning, budgeting and directing all aspects of the project implementation, particularly on business development areas.
The primary role of the BDM is to develop UNALAfrom a NGO project depending on a high percentage of direct funding into a sustainable social business.
Focus of the role will be to explore business growth within the network, develop a business plan, and execute italong with the team. The role will entail high focus on delivering on business results, an experienced business developer must be recruited for this job, profit and loss management experience and double digit growth track record.
Strategic planning is a key part of this position, since it is the BDM’s responsibility to develop thepipeline of new business coming in to the organization. This requires athorough knowledge of themarket, the solutions/services the organizationcan provide, and of theorganization’s competitors.
Knowledge of social franchising is a big advantage.
The BDM works with the UNALA staff in Yogyakarta, reporting directly to the NPO for Youth and ASRH that is based in Jakarta (see theorganization map).
The BDM will represent UNALA to key stakeholders and partners at selected events.
